Report: Everton now looking to use DCL funds to sign rapid forward who Arne Slot wants at Liverpool

Everton are making some early moves in the summer window as they look to make a big impression early doors this year.

The Toffees are navigating PSR issues and also new owners but are making quick moves to try and settle the ship ahead of the window really kicking into gear.

Everton have closed a deal to sign Aston Villa youngster Tim Iroegbunam, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin could also be on his way to Newcastle.

And it is the potential money from the Calvert-Lewin sale that Everton are now looking to use as they look to further bolster the squad.

This time, with a player who Arne Slot reportedly wants at Liverpool.

Everton keen on signing Yankuba Minteh

According to Sky Sports, the Toffees are now looking to use their relationship with Newcastle for the Calvert-Lewin deal to sign Minteh.

The young winger had a superb season with Feyenoord last year and has been linked with following Arne Slot to Liverpool this summer.

However, it is Everton who looking at signing him.

All of these deals, with Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Chelsea all doing business with each other, points towards ways of getting around PSR issues before June 30th.

Minteh brings pace to Everton

Everton have already moved to bring Jack Harrison back this summer and that gives them one wide man with searing pace.

However, adding Minteh as well only gives them even more speed in wide areas and if he can replicate what he did in Holland, then Everton will have a top player on their hands.

Lauded as a player who can be ‘extremely dangerous‘ on his day, Minteh is still only 19 but will feel after a fine season in the Eredivisie that he deserves a chance in England.

Quite how this all continues to play out, remains to be seen.

But it’s clear Everton are moving early and behind the scenes, there must be a big confidence that the takeover is about to happen.
