Exactly how much Maidenhead United would make if Wolves sell Max Kilman for their asking price

Wolves captain Max Kilman has accumulated considerable interest this summer, which is encouraging news for his former club Maidenhead United.

The summer transfer window has got off to a flying start at Molineux, as Gary O’Neil has already secured three players ahead of 2024/25.

Wolves started their business by securing Tommy Doyle on a permanent basis, with Rodrigo Gomes arriving from Braga and Brazilian wonderkid Pedro Lima set to be announced in due course.

While the focus has been on arrivals so far, departures have been highly speculated, with Max Kilman’s future one of the most talked about narratives.

The Wolves captain could generate a significant profit for the Old Gold following his £40,000 transfer although, not only the Midlands club will benefit from a possible sale.

How much Maidenhead United will make if Wolves sell Max Kilman for £45m asking price

Wolves have been inundated with interest for Kilman, with West Ham and Newcastle United leading the pack as those eager to capture the centre-back.

Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to admire Kilman as they hunt a left-sided defender.

Wolves have already turned down offers for the Englishman for one key reason, as they wait out to receive their £45m valuation of their captain.

As documented by the Times, the reason for the Old Gold’s high valuation of the 27-year-old is due to the fact that Maidenhead United will also profit from his sale.

Maidenhead will receive 15% of any transfer of the centre-back, meaning that if Wolves were to secure their £45m asking price, the non-League side would earn around £6.75m.

Wolves must remain firm in their asking price for Kilman

While O’Neil will be reluctant to part ways with the defender, Wolves must squeeze the most out of the growing interest in Kilman.

The captain is an integral part of the squad however, he is not by any means replaceable, adding to why Wolves must hold out for their asking price in order to part ways.

Given that Maidenhead will take a chunk of whatever profit is made for the Englishman, the Old Gold will aim to maximise what they can make from the centre-back for the benefit of both clubs.

It will be interesting to see how O’Neil and Matt Hobbs’ play the market when it comes to Kilman, with interest expected to come for other players in the starting XI also.

With West Ham, Newcastle and Spurs rumoured to be lurking, only time will tell just how much Wolves will take from a possible sale.
