'Scary': Amadou Onana reacts to news coming from Everton

Amadou Onana has now described news coming from Everton as “scary” when writing on Instagram.

The Belgian – who is currently playing at UEFA EURO 2024 – found time in his busy schedule while on international duty to comment on a development back at Goodison Park.

So, what did Everton No.8 Amadou Onana respond to? Let’s take a look…

Everton No.8 Amadou Onana reacts as Lewis Dobbin joins Aston Villa

The Belgium international has now reacted after the Toffees sold Lewis Dobbin to Aston Villa.

Everton will receive £10m from the deal just hours after signing Tim Iroegbunam from the Villa for a sum of £9m.

The two deals would appear to be a roundabout way of navigating the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) – with the sale of academy graduates going down as 100% profit in the books.

Onana is clearly expecting big things of Dobbin at Villa Park, as he described the 21-year-old’s move as a “scary” development when commenting on the England U19 international’s transfer.

The Stoke-born forward made 12 Premier League appearances for Everton last season, scoring one goal which came in a 2-0 win against Chelsea, and departs Merseyside after ten years at Goodison Park.

Belgium international could also leave Goodison Park

Onana may actually follow Dobbin out of Goodison Park once he returns from UEFA EURO 2024.

A story from Mundo Deportivo in Spain claimed that Barcelona are keen to sign the 22-year-old this summer, although Arsenal are actually the favourites to secure his signature.

Of course, Everton certainly won’t want to lose Onana, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin already looking likely to leave Merseyside to join Newcastle.

However, the man from Dakar will surely find it difficult to ignore interest from Barcelona and Arsenal – more suitors could even arrive at the table if he keeps impressing at UEFA EURO 2024.
