Apart from Pep Guardiola, if there is any manager in the world who knows how brilliant this Manchester City squad is, it is Vincent Kompany.

Since Kompany left the club in 2019, City’s squad has considerably changed.

But there are still several players at theEtihad Stadium who the Bayern Munich boss has played with.

Report shares how interested Vincent Kompany is in Bernardo Silva to Bayern move

Considering Bayern, much like Manchester City are a massive club, Kompany would be hoping to lure some of his teammates to make a move to the Allianz Arena.

After the Bavarian giants finished third in the Bundesliga and failed to win a single trophy, the Belgian would be hoping that his squad is best placed to dominate on several fronts next season. Especially considering that the former Burnley manager would like to lay the foundations for success in his debut season in Germany.

The Daily Star have reported that a player Vincent Kompany feels a player who would be the perfect signing for Bayern is Bernardo due to his wealth of experience and versatility to play in midfield and as a winger.

It has been stated that the German giants are ready to trigger the £50 million release clause, as reported in April by Fabrizio Romano in the 29-year-old’s contract to ascertain whether both the player and City would be willing to agree on an exit.

The report claims that while the Bundesliga side are not the only club keen on the £43 million man’s signature — Barcelona are struggling financially to get the deal done and Real Madrid seemingly have bigger priorities in the transfer market.

In May, it was claimed that Paris Saint-Germain do not consider the six-time Premier League winner’s signing as a priority.

As a result, Bayern have an edge over the rest in their pursuit for Bernardo, which would seem to delight Vincent Kompany.

Bernardo Silva should opt for Man City stay over Bayern transfer

While Kompany is a talented tactician, for a player like Bernardo, who is in the prime of his career, his priority should be to work with a more proven manager like Guardiola over the Bayern boss.

At Manchester City, the decorated technician also has the opportunity to keep playing in the best league in the world.

The Bundesliga lacks the quality of players and coaches to be classed as a league at the same standard as the Premier League.

Furthermore, City are better-placed to win the Champions League, having won the competition as recently as in 2023.

Bayern, on the other hand, are yet to since 2020.

All factors point towards why staying in England would be a better choice for the versatile midfielder.
