Taylor Swift fan convinced they've 'caught' her lip-syncing on stage - 'I don't blame her'

Tay-Tay is still on her record-breaking Eras Tour, set to next conquer the Netherlands and Switzerland. A recent video has surfaced, claiming to show Taylor Swift switching from lip-syncing to singing live onstage.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has taken over the World, recently storming the UK with 15 shows where fans can catch her hit music. It’s not only Tay-Tay that causing a media sensation, but her entire team. Whether it’s her security team singing along to the queen of pop’s tunes, or her beau Travis Kelce in the audience staking a claim on ‘his’ song. Swift’s show, lasting an unbelievable three and a half hours, is not only the longest show she has ever performed, but one of the longest ever. With a total of 152 shows in 54 cities (and during record-breaking heat-waves), she’s demonstrated her stamina and dedication to her loyal fans. A recent video claiming to show Taylor apparently lip-syncing leaves fans unsurprised.

Taylor Swift fan claims they’ve seen her lip-syncing in recent UK show

As part of Taylor’s UK section of the tour, she played three sold-out consecutive nights in Edinburgh, to an audience of nearly 73,000 fans. With more than ten hours of singing and dancing across the three days, it feels no surprise that there might be times she needs to give her vocal cords a rest.

A fan has released a video on TikTok claiming, “You can really see the switch from lip-sync to live.”

Captioned, “We Stan a queen that knows how to rest her vocal cords, 3.5 hours shows ain’t no jokes!” It appears fans alike are undeterred in their support by a little bit of lip-syncing, if she was.

‘I don’t blame her’

One fan comments, “For three hours, that’s completely valid.”

“I don’t blame her. I went to a show and have completely lost my voice.” Adds another.

Some fans argue in the comments they can’t see the transition at all, “Even with you pointing it out, I can’t realize it.” To which the original poster responds, “And it’s ok, I may be wrong to be fair!”

Another theory proposes that rather than lip-syncing, Taylor Swift is just saving her vocals by singing in a lighter tone, relying on volume from her incredible back-up singers.

“I hear her voice (head voice, very chill and light) along with her back up singers. I do not think it’s lip sync. She’s just singing at low volume and letting the backing vocalists do the heavy lift.” Claims a fan.

However, there are many videos of the 34-year-old singing and speaking during her songs, proving her mic is in fact turned on. So, as the original poster declared, they could be wrong. The singer herself has never said she lip-syncs, and in a recent show praised her performers for doing their job live. So it seems she’s telling us she doesn’t!

Lip-syncing or not, Taylor continues to break records and uplift the hearts of fans across the globe, and it seems her Swifties wouldn’t change a thing!
