Report: Enzo Maresca wants Chelsea to sign ‘fast’ player this summer, an offer has been made

Reports have claimed that the new Chelsea manager has now given the green light to a potential new signing to come to Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca was appointed the new boss over the summer to replace Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, and he is set to join up with his new players in just a few days’ time.

A lot has been made of how much impact the Italian is going to have over potential transfers that occur at Stamford Bridge this summer, both coming in and leaving the club.

It was believed that disagreements over the future of Conor Gallagher eventually saw the end of Pochettino, with the player reportedly up for sale at the right price despite the former boss clearly loving having him in the first team squad.

However, reports from Spain have now claimed that the new manager has a desire for his side to bring in Barcelona striker Marc Guiu.

Maresca wants Marc Guiu

According to Diario AS, Maresca is leading the pursuit of the striker, and wants him to be part of the first team setup.

It goes on to say that the Blues have made an offer already to bring him in, potentially suggesting that they are backing up what the manager wants in his first window in charge.

The AS writer also had plenty of positves to describe Guiu with, labelling him as a ‘fast’ player.

The Blues are not the only elite side interested in a deal to bring him in, however it was claimed that they have now overtaken one of their rivals, Bayern Munich, for a potential deal.

Bringing in a young striker is likely with the aim to provide competition in the not too distant future for Nicolas Jackson, who looks set to start the campaign up front after enjoying a really strong debut season in the Premier League.
