Report: Liverpool want just £8m to sell player Jurgen Klopp called 'incredible'

It has just emerged, that Liverpool would be willing to sanction the sale of a player for just £8m, according to a recent report.

The Merseysiders are undergoing a squad reshuffle this summer, as Arne Slot looks to make his own imprint following his arrival from Feyenoord.

The Dutchman will be tasked with the objective of challenging for the Premier League title after Jurgen Klopp’s men finished third last term.

To do that, he’ll need substantial backing in the window, so there’ll have to be a number of outgoings to boost the kitty.

That said, one Reds player is available for £8m.

Liverpool want £8m for Nat Phillips

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are prepared to let Nat Phillips depart if they receive a bid of around £8m.

The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract at Anfield so now is the last chance for The Reds to cash in on him.

Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town are keeping tabs on him, as are Cardiff, where he enjoyed a productive six-month loan spell last season.

The Championship outfit are eager to bring him back to South Wales but with Bundesliga side Mainz also in the race – a return is doubtful.

Price tag rules out most Championship clubs

Liverpool’s £8m asking price would rule out the majority of Championship clubs, including Cardiff despite having him on loan last term.

Even Ipswich, who will have a substantial budget this window, may opt to look elsewhere for a younger alternative.

Phillips, who Jurgen Klopp labelled ‘incredible’, will become a free agent next summer, so many suitors may be tempted to wait a year before making an approach.

Liverpool may have outpriced too many clubs.
