Report: Ange Postecoglou loses ‘hugely popular’ staff member just weeks after Chris Davies left Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are seeing a number of exits granted this month but it is not just for some of their players with changes happening behind the scenes.

A busy few months awaits Ange Postecoglou as he looks to bolster his side for a season playing Europa League football.

The north London outfit enjoyed a successful first season under the Australian manager but he has made it apparent there is still a lot of work to be done.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has already sanctioned a number of exits from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Spurs have taken some significant financial hits on players like Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon to get some names off the list for Postecoglou.

But it seems Spurs have also lost a significant member of their backroom staff just weeks after Chris Davies left the club.

Tottenham experiencing behind the scenes changes

A promising 2024/25 awaits Spurs on the back of their first campaign under Postecoglou, but there is still a lot that needs to be done at Hotspur Way.

Spurs have recently lost their assistant manager, Chris Davies, to League One side Birmingham City.

Davies arrived at the club last summer with Postecoglou but has taken his first opportunity at the managerial job at a club.

According to The Northern Echo, Spurs have now lost their strength and conditioning coach Mark Thrower.

Thrower has already returned to the north east having spent just over two years in north London with Tottenham.

And it is a move which is said to have gone down extremely well at Boro with Thrower a ‘hugely popular’ staff member to the players.

Tottenham have work to do this summer

Spurs have made a positive start to the summer when it comes to clearing the decks of some of their unwanted players.

Granted, Spurs have not done any business which has seen money come in for any of their players, but some significant earners have been taken from the wage bill.

But Spurs are yet to bring in a permanent signing with the Euros potentially providing a real hurdle in their summer plans.

Timo Werner has come in on a season-long loan, but signings are going to be needed if Spurs are going to compete on all fronts with European football to contend with.
