‘I think…’: Sky Sports journalist says Wolves would ‘seriously consider’ selling key player on one condition

The story of Wolves’ transfer window so far has been arrivals however, Gary O’Neil could be open to letting one player exit if one condition is met.

It’s been a rapid start to the summer for Wolves, who have already acquired three players to bolster Gary O’Neil’s squad.

Tommy Doyle made his loan spell permanent to kick business off at Molineux ahead of 2024/25, with Rodrigo Gomes and Pedro Lima in the pipeline to make an impact in the Premier League next term.

While the arrivals have taken the spotlight, O’Neil will be braced to part ways with some players this summer, with Max Kilman’s future frequently speculated.

Dharmesh Sheth says Wolves would sell Max Kilman on one condition

Last summer, Wolves skipper Kilman was the subject of interest, as the Old Gold turned down a £30m bid from Napoli for the defender.

This summer seems to be no different, with several Premier League clubs already rumoured to be eyeing the 27-year-old.

Having played every minute of the 2023/24 league season under O’Neil, the Englishman is a crucial player in the manager’s system although, journalist Dharmesh Sheth believes Wolves would offload Kilman on one condition.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the Sky Sports journalist reinforced that Wolves ‘don’t want to sell’ their captain but could if their valuation is met.

“As far as Wolves are concerned, they don’t want to sell – and contrary to some reports, I’m told that they are under no pressure to sell either.

“There’s all this talk about profit and sustainability rules, and that they have to sell to make some money before June 30th. I’m told that is not the case, and that they wouldn’t have to sell Max Kilman.

“However, if a bid was to come in in excess of £40million, £45million…then I think Wolves – like any other club if a big bid was to come in – would have to seriously consider it. They don’t want to let him go.”

Wolves asking price for Kilman is clear

Wolves are at an advantage as several clubs are said to be eyeing Kilman, who would bring the club a significant profit after signing for just £40,000.

That being said, O’Neil will be reluctant to part ways with his club captain given how impactful he was in defence last season.

It’s a difficult scenario for Wolves, but one that is equally simple, if the Old Gold are to receive their asking price, an exit looks far more likely.

With links to the likes of Thomas Beelen, it could be assumed that O’Neil is already considering his options to replace the Englishman, who is wanted by former boss Julen Lopetegui at West Ham.

As interest grows, Wolves will be more and more hopeful of landing their desired asking price for the centre-back.
