'Included one player': Romano has just dropped an intriguing transfer update on £50k-a-week Wolves ace

Speculation continues to swirl around Wolves captain Max Kilman.

The 27-year-old has been the subject of interest from several clubs recently, and it would appear there is a real possibility he could be poached.

He was an ever-present in the Premier League last season for Gary O’Neil, who clearly rates the defender highly.

His performances have led to interest from West Ham United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United lately, and two of those clubs have already failed with bids.

Newcastle reportedly offered cash plus Elliot Anderson for Kilman.

West Ham have seen a £25 million offer turned down, and they’ve also seen an offer rejected that included a player.

West Ham have wanted Kilman for a long time, and they are now acting on their interest.

Julen Lopetegui obviously worked with Kilman at Wolves and knows the player’s qualities. He is keen to reunite with his former player, but Wolves have set a high asking price.

It is thought the club are holding out for around £45 million.

This morning, Fabrizio Romano has dropped an update on the situation about West Ham and Kilman, and there was one particularly interesting line.

He wrote on X: “West Ham are still pushing for Max Kilman, new proposal expected to be sent soon. Second proposal also included one player as part of the deal but Wolves rejected again.

“Julen Lopetegui wants Kilman, talks continue.”

Romano did not provide any more information as to who West Ham offered in the proposal.

Wolves must continue to stand firm

Wolves must stick to their guns over £50,000-a-week star Kilman, because it’s very possible their £45 million asking price will eventually be met.

Clubs seem very keen on the star, and it may be that a bidding war may break out. Ultimately, this will help Wolves bring in a fee they deem fair.

It is interesting to hear that West Ham offered a player plus cash for Kilman, just as Newcastle did, and one wonders who the player in question was.

Previously, Wolves have had interest in full-back Aaron Cresswell, and also striker Michail Antonio.
