Report: After £17m Iliman Ndiaye deal is done, Everton could also sign Premier League player this summer

After the deal to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille is finalised, Everton could buy a player who is currently living much closer to Goodison Park.

The Toffees are closing in on a deal for the Senegal international as Kevin Thelwell aims to improve Sean Dyche’s attack this summer, and it sounds like attention will then turn to the defence once this £17m signing is completed.

So, which Premier League player could Everton sign after securing Iliman Ndiaye? Let’s take a look…

Everton want Aaron Wan-Bissaka

A story from talkSPORT now states that Everton are keen to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Manchester United No.29 is up for sale this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils hope to recoup some of the £50m spent to sign him from Crystal Palace in June 2019.

If a sale does not materialise, Erik ten Hag’s side risk losing the defender for nothing in 2025.

TalkSPORT believe Galatasaray are also keen to sign Wan-Bissaka, with the Turkish giants set to compete against Everton for the right-back’s signature.

Furthermore, it is also said that Dyche admires Manchester United No.2 Victor Lindelof, and the Sweden international could replace Jarrad Branthwaite if the Everton No.32 ends up leaving Goodison Park this summer.

Sean Dyche needs a new face at right-back

In our view, Everton are in need of a long-term option to hold down the right-back position.

Seamus Coleman is now 35 years of age and looks likely to depart Goodison Park after the 2024/25 campaign, whereas Ben Godfrey is an unnatural option in that area, given his status as a predominant central defender.

In regards to Nathan Patterson, the 22-year-old is a promising talent, but has so far struggled to secure his place in the starting XI since his £16m move from Rangers in 2022, making just nine Premier League starts last season.

Therefore, a standout option in that area like Wan-Bissaka wouldn’t go amiss, and Thelwell could negotiate a cut-price deal as a result of the 26-year-old’s contract situation.
