Report: 'Fantastic' £12m player would need to be convinced to join Tottenham from PL rival this summer

One player will still need assurances should Tottenham Hotspur offer him the chance to sign from their Premier League rivals in the summer transfer window.

Spurs are yet to welcome any new faces in the window, with Timo Werner seeing his loan move extended by another season.

And perhaps another familiar face could also soon be on his way to North London this summer.

One position Tottenham may look to strengthen in is at right-back, with Emerson Royal seemingly edging closer to a move to AC Milan after falling behind Pedro Porro in the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou.

Emerson has his limitations as a full-back, particularly in the way Postecoglou wants his side to play, but he provides cover in a number of positions, so it is important that Spurs sign a decent replacement.

Kyle Walker-Peters may have reservations about returning to Tottenham

And according to Give Me Sport, Tottenham are interested in signing Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton – four years after they sold him permanently to the Saints for £12 million.

Walker-Peters helped the club secure promotion at the first time of asking, but it would appear that he may still get the chance to leave in this window.

However, any Tottenham fans expecting Walker-Peters to jump at the chance to return may be disappointed, with Give Me Sport reporting that the 27-year-old wants assurances over his role in the squad before making any move.

A brilliant target should Emerson Royal leave this summer

Walker-Peters would be a really smart signing given that he has lots of Premier League experience, but can also play on either flank, having often played at left-back at St Mary’s.

He is someone Dele Alli previously labelled ‘fantastic‘, and he may perhaps have a feeling that he has unfinished business at Tottenham.

Spurs do have other targets on their radar, including Vanderson, but if they can convince Walker-Peters to return, it may be a shrewd piece of business as Tottenham then look for the marquee additions which are going to elevate them further.
