19-assist star has agreed to join Tottenham Hotspur as new transfer offer expected

Tottenham Hotspur have already made two summer signings but Ange Postecoglou will be keen to add more new face to his squad this summer.

The transfer window is officially open but we are expecting the market to really get moving in July.

Tottenham Hotspur do already have two signings sorted though with Lucas Bergvall and Timo Werner coming in.

Bergvall agreed to join in February and Werner is returning on loan, so these are two signings Tottenham fans have been studying for months now.

New additions will be expected as well though and Tottenham would be wise to add another creative midfield player.

James Maddison is a quality player but his form after suffering an injury in November saw him miss out on a spot in England’s Euro 2024 squad.

Giovani Lo Celso hasn’t been able to step up as real competition and the time has come for another playmaker to arrive into Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Tottenham Hotspur pushing for Sebastian Szymanski

One name which just won’t go away is that of Fenerbahce star Sebastian Szymanski.

Reports in April suggested that Tottenham were ready to pay £17million to bring Szymanski to North London.

The rumours have gone a little quiet since then, but the speculation is certainly back now.

Aslinda over in Turkey report that Tottenham have tabled a bid worth €17.5million (£14.5million) in an attempt to get a deal done.

It’s stated that Fenerbahce have refused that proposal but Tottenham intend to come back with a new offer.

Szymanski allegedly has a four-year deal in place with Tottenham with a move all agreed on his side.

Tottenham are yet to meet Fenerbahce’s demands though, meaning Szymanski faces a nervous to wait to see if Spurs can thrash out an agreement.

Szymanski’s frustrating Euro 2024

Former Feyenoord star Szymanski was simply sensational after joining Fenerbahce last season.

The attacking midfielder smashed 13 goals and 19 assists in a stunning campaign, seemingly catching Tottenham’s eye in the progress.

Szymanski would have been desperate to take that form into Euro 2024 but this summer has already been frustrating for him.

The 25-year-old started against the Netherlands but was substituted at half-time before being an unused substitute against Austria.

Szymanski was back in the lineup to face France on Tuesday but was substituted with just over 20 minutes to play.

Poland are now out of Euro 2024 and Szymanski leaves without really making an impact on the tournament, which is a huge disappointment after his displays in Turkey.

Tottenham may now be able to accelerate a move for Szymanski with his international commitments out of the way, but the claims from Turkey have yet to really be backed up by any notable sources in England.
