Report: Tottenham could make 'exceptional' player's dream come true after approaching to sign him

Tottenham Hotspur have the opportunity to make one of their summer target’s dream come true if they are to sign him.

Ange Postecoglou is yet to see a player signed permanently this summer at Tottenham after the opening couple of weeks of the market.

Timo Werner is still the only player to walk through the doors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer on another loan deal from RB Leipzig.

But Spurs are in the market to make additions to their squad this summer with a number of players still on the transfer list.

Emerson Royal is one of those who could leave this summer with the Brazilian having received interest from AC Milan.

His potential sale would create a clear position needing to be filled by Daniel Levy before the start of the new campaign.

Tottenham could make summer target’s dream come true

Right-back has not been a huge issue for Postecoglou with Pedro Porro nailing down the spot since the Australian’s arrival last summer.

The Spaniard has not really struggled with injuries barring a small muscle strain which only kept him out of action for two league games.

But the 2024/25 campaign is going to provide Postecoglou with a lot more to consider with an increased number of games needing to be played.

With Spurs qualified for the Europa League, the Lilywhites are going to need a stronger squad to rotate.

According to Brazilian outlet Trivela, Tottenham have made contact with AS Monaco over the potential acquisition of right-back Vanderson.

There is interest from a number of Premier League sides with Manchester United and Newcastle United also credited with an interest.

Last year, Vanderson had proposals from the two Premier League sides and Barcelona with the Red Devils coming the closest to signing him with an offer of €40m (£33.5m) rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit.

As interest from England circles again this summer, the 23-year-old is believed to have a dream of playing in the Premier League.

Tottenham will need to fend off big competition for Vanderson

There were some huge clubs linked with the Brazilian right-back in the report from his home country.

Spurs have recently beaten some big clubs to players as recently as in the January transfer window.

Levy was able to beat Barcelona – who have also held an interest in Vanderson – to the signing of Lucas Bergvall in the winter window.

And the Lilywhites were also able to fend off Bayern Munich to the signature of the Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin.

It is no real surprise there is so much interest in Vanderson with his former manager Philippe Clement hailing him as “exceptional” to the French media.

Offering a player a spot as the number two behind Porro may not be the most attractive of offers, but European football will likely mean Postecoglou will be required to rotate his options.
