Report: Arsenal in talks to sell 'exceptional' player, Edu wants £40m fee

Fulham have initiated contact with Arsenal to sign one of their players this summer.

A number of Mikel Arteta’s men could be shown the door. Reports have claimed that 10 Arsenal players have been put on the ‘chopping block’.

Edu Gaspar could raise quite a bit of money if he gets his sales right, and that would help Arsenal pursue big moves for their own targets in this window.

Now, a report has claimed that talks have begun between Arsenal and Fulham for the potential sale of one of the most popular players at the club.

However, there is a big gap between both sides’ valuation of the player.

Fulham begin talks to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal

Emile Smith Rowe is a fan favourite at Arsenal – everybody loves him.

The Englishman, along with Bukayo Saka, began Arsenal’s rebuild under Arteta back in 2020, and they played a massive part in helping lay the foundations at the club.

Saka has gone on to become a superstar, but injuries have really hampered Smith Rowe’s progression at the Emirates Stadium over the last two years.

As a result, there is an expectation that Arsenal will consider offers for Smith Rowe this summer, which is a shame as he’s a player with so much potential.

GiveMeSport have now revealed that Fulham have made first contact with Arsenal to try and agree on a deal to sign the England international.

The report claims that Arsenal are demanding £40 million for Smith Rowe, who will enter the final two years of his contract in July.

However, Fulham only value the player at £25 million, which makes it difficult for any deal to go through in the foreseeable future unless one of the clubs agree to budge.

Three other clubs want to sign Smith Rowe

The last two years have been disappointing for Smith Rowe, but everybody knows he has the talent and potential to become a star again.

The ‘exceptional‘ Englishman just needs regular game time, but unfortunately, that doesn’t look possible at Arsenal, where skipper Martin Odegaard is ahead of him in the pecking order.

A move to Fulham could be great for Smith Rowe, but they aren’t the only club interested in his services in this summer’s transfer window.

The report from GMS adds that fellow Premier League sides West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all interested in the versatile Arsenal attacker.

It will be interesting to see if any of the above clubs would be willing to get close to Arsenal’s asking price of £40 million.
