Report: Romelu Lukaku would be open to joining Champions League side this summer

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku may get the opportunity to play Champions League football next season.

Right now, Romelu Lukaku still plays for Chelsea, who will not be in Europe’s elite competition.

However, the 31-year-old still looks likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with one Champions League club currently thought to be interested in him.

Lukaku spent last term out on loan at AS Roma, and it looks like one of their rivals are keen on bringing the Belgian in.

He made 47 appearances for the Giallorossi and scored 21 goals.

Champions League club interested in signing Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku had already played for Inter Milan before joining Roma last summer.

In fact, he has had two separate spells there. However, it does not look like that will stop him from joining Inter’s city rivals.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are interested in signing Lukaku this summer.

The same outlet has also claimed that the Belgian would not say no to joining the Italian giants.

AC Milan could sign another Chelsea forward if they do not land Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku makes a lot of sense for Milan. He is a top striker and obviously knows Italian football very well.

The problem is getting him out of Chelsea. The Blues will not want to loan the Belgium international out for a third-successive year; they will want to offload him permanently.

In fact, it has already been claimed that Chelsea have turned down a loan enquiry from Milan.

If they cannot sign Lukaku this summer, there is always Armando Broja.

It has been reported that they also have an interest in him and that a move to the San Siro would appeal to the Albania international.

Last summer, Milan signed Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. A year later, and another raid on the Blues looks possible, with both Lukaku and Broja seemingly on their radar.
