How Nottingham Forest are feeling internally after signing Elliott Anderson and selling three players - journalist

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United for a fee in the region of £35 million.

The deal has been completed pretty quickly with the Magpies needing to raise funds to comply with the latest PSR cycle.

Forest have sent Odysseas Vlachodimos in the other direction and it’s not been confirmed yet how much the Reds will receive for his services.

Now, the Reds will look forward to seeing what Anderson can do on Trentside with the young talent looking to play regular football at Forest.

Since he joined the City Ground ranks, a number of opinions have been doing the rounds and a journalist has shared how the club are feeling.

How Nottingham Forest feel internally with the signing of Elliot Anderson

It was quite nice from a fan’s point of view to see Forest get this deal over the line pretty quickly and without any hiccups.

The Reds will now look forward to seeing Anderson in action – and it would appear that Forest are pretty happy behind the scenes.

More players will likely follow at Forest this summer and journalist Daniel Taylor has now shared how Forest feel behind the scenes.

He said: “#NFFC very satisfied with their business this last week or so – and justifiably so.

“Elliot Anderson is, in emoji terms, (okay emoji).

“To get £50m for Niakhate/Mangala – and fall in line with PSR in the process – is a hell of a result and also selling a 3rd-choice GK who was on big wages.”

Forest will now go in search of more new players

So far, Forest have signed Marko Stamenic and loaned him straight to Olympiacos and Erik da Silva Moreira from St Pauli.

This feels like the first addition to the ranks that will immediately form part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad at the City Ground.

Anderson has 44 Premier League appearances to his name and with the right support from the head coach he could be a huge hit.

At 21 he fits the profile of a player that Forest should be targeting and it will now be fascinating to see how he goes at the City Ground.

Anderson seems to be popular in the North East and hopefully, his performances at Forest will see the supporters quickly fall in love with him here too.
