Travis Kelce’s favorite Taylor Swift song isn’t So High School – But it’s sweet

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are not only romantically-linked, but the pair are avid fans of each other’s work. Kelce shares when he first got into Taylor’s music and what his favorite song really is.

Travis Kelce is a star football player, while Taylor Swift is an All-American-Superstar. The celebrity couple fell in love in what sounds like the plot of a high-school rom-com. It’s not a shock to find out that Travis is also a Swiftie and a big fan of Tay-Tay’s music. While their story sounds ‘So High School’, the NFL player has shared how this isn’t in fact his favorite song. Kelce opens up in a podcast about his relationship with Taylor’s music and when he started becoming a fan of the record-breaking singer.

Travis first tried to woo Taylor at one of her shows

Travis’ appearances at Taylor’s Eras Tour have been heavily documented. With Taylor on stage and Travis taking his place in the VIP box, the pair have been seen, eyes locked, singing only to each other, with palpable chemistry.

Travis recounts to his brother Jason Kelce on his podcast, New Heights, how he attended a show in July 2023 and was rejected from meeting the singer. In a ‘high-school’ plot, he planned to present Swift with a friendship bracelet containing his digits and was “kind of butthurt” by the rejection.

Swift hearing the podcast told TIME magazine this act was “metal as hell” and so began their whirlwind romance. A romance which is leading the pair to a ‘grown-up’ conclusion as they make plans to ‘move forward’.

Seems like Travis has been a super-fan since before the pair became linked romantically, and his presence at shows only continues to confirm his Swiftie status.

He was noticed by fans, singing passionately and performing his own choreography to Swift’s So High School. With particular emphasis on the line, ‘You know how to ball, I know Aristotle.’ It seems Kelce may be seeing the similarities between their romance and this track.

However, on a recent podcast Travis reveals this isn’t actually his favorite song!

Travis Kelce reveals his favorite Taylor Swift song

Making an appearance on the podcast Bussin’ With The Boys for its June 25 episode, Travis opened up about the pair’s Love Story.

He revealed the adorable moment he fell for his girl when she attended her first Chiefs game last September. While simultaneously throwing shade at her ex Joe Alwyn by claiming “I’m not here to hide anything” when it comes to their relationship.

The conversation turns to Travis’ fandom when the hosts ask him about his top three Taylor Swift songs.

Kelce shares that it was during the release of 1989, in 2014, that he really became a fan of Swift. He describes knowing of her throughout high-school, as they were the same age, and Taylor was just getting her career started. However, he says “[the release of] 1989 was where it really started like to go crazy.”

Therefore, Travis concludes taking the number one spot for him is the track Blank Space, featured on Swift’s 1989 album. “Dawg, that’s my number one too.” The host tells Kelce and they laugh together.

In at number two is Cruel Summer, from her album Lover. Travis reminisces of his first Taylor show, describing the atmosphere as she sings this as her opening track.

“When she comes out and it’s just f***ing electric in the stadium.” He described. Continuing, “I was fired up when that happened, the first show I was ever at.”

And finally, coming in at number three is So High School, from the latest release The Tortured Poets Department. The footballer refers to the song as having “a little bit of sentimental meaning.” To which the host responds, “you make an appearance”.

“You know how to ball, I know Aristotle.” Travis knowingly replies.

Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the day they feature on a podcast together to talk about their ‘high-school’ romance.
