WE GET MORE DETAILS ON THE FORD F-150 RATTLER

As it stands, all-terrain conquering trucks and SUVs hold some pretty hefty price tags, which means you’ll either have to build up a worthy off-road vehicle for yourself or bite the bullet. This is why the Ford F-150 Rattler is such an appealing alternative, as it’s cheaper than the Ford F-150 Raptor and the Tremor. It features a comprehensive off-road package that is certainly healthier for your bank account while still offering the ability for exploration and adventure.

MC&T reached out to Ford for some answers to ask a few questions to get some additional information on the F-150 Rattler. Here’s what we learned:

  • The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will be available on XL trims only. Not the XLT or Lariat.
  • Where the Rattler will be limited to the XL trim, it’s going to be offered with just about every engine in the F-150 lineup. That includes the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 5.0L Coyote V8, 3.5L EcoBoost V6, and 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid powertrains. It’s not available with the base 3.3L V6, but unlike the F-150 Tremor, the hybrid option is available.
  • The 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler package was driven by customer demand for a truck that has expressive styling, off-road capability, and at a more entry-level price point.

Ford F-150 Rattler: Coming Later This Year

The 2023 F-150 Rattler features FX4 skid plates, an electronic rear locking differential for enhanced traction, hill descent control, specially tuned off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, painted 18-inch aluminum wheels, and unique “Rattler” badging on the fender vents and rattlesnake-inspired graphics. The inside features darkened Onyx seats featuring bronzed accents and unique stitching that seems to riff the Tremor a bit. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, and production won’t commence until this fall. But we are incredibly excited about the off-road truck for the people.
