THERE'S A CHRYSLER PACIFICA HELLCAT SOMEWHERE IN MANHATTAN

The 2022 New York Auto Show is happening for the first time in three years. And while Jeep showed off big debuts (literally) with the Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L, as well as the new Hurricane inline-six engine, there wasn’t much worth talking about. But that’s also because the rest of the fun stuff isn’t even at the Javits Convention Center. It’s at the Classic Car Club of Manhattan. We’re talking about the inaugural New York Auto Parts Show, hosted by eBay Motors, which is open to the public from 11am – 5pm, Thursday, April 14. On display is what’s set to be a Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat, a Ford Ranger 6×6, a LS-swapped Tesla Model S, and 1983 Plymouth Horizon (aka a Dodge Omni) that features the fabled Hot Vapor engine invented by Smokey Yunick and restored by Danny Soliz of Hill Country Performance, plus others.

We were able to catch up with YouTubers Tavarish and Grind Hard Plumbing, both of which have well over 1 million subscribers, and are displaying machines that were made possible by acquiring parts up for sale eBay Motors. For Tavarish, it’s the Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat that will be ready by the 2022 SEMA Show. For Grind Hard Plumbing, it’s a Ford Ranger 6×6 that could be seen at a Holley LS Fest next year.

Whereas there are plenty of collector car auction sites these days, not all of them sell the parts customers need to restore or modify their projects. eBay tends to have a bajillion parts for sale at any given time. Okay, while that’s not exactly an approximation, eBay Motors does generate over $10B in annual Gross Merchandise Value annually, while one out every three eBay shoppers buy parts and accessories for their automobiles.
