The Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus Boot is a modern interpretation of a racing vehicle campaigned by Steve McQueen in the 1970s, and features a number of upgrades that have made it formidable enough to beat the likes of Ford at the treacherous Baja 1000 race. And not once, but twice.
Recently, SCG released a number of videos on its YouTube channel of the Boot being built, showing the no-nonsense-style factory where the work is done. Welders and grinders are hard at work, as a small team marries the body of the Boot to the chassis using a forklift.

The whole operation seems to be run by a group of individuals committed to the project, with just about everything being hand-built and hand-assembled. In addition to the body being installed, the channel features videos of the body being painted, as well as early test drives of the vehicle.
The quality of workmanship speaks to the $258,000 price tag of the SCG Boot, which is purpose-built to tackle the dirt (and your local autocross if you’re up for it). Powered by a 6.2L LT1 V8 that’s also found in the Chevrolet Camaro, the Boot has 460 horsepower available to power all four wheels through just about any terrain, along with the aid of 37-inch BF Goodrich mud terrain tires – just like what we see on the Ford Bronco Raptor. Engine and tires can also be upgraded to 650 horsepower and 39-inches respectively, while 19-inches of suspension travel keep the vehicle planted over a bumpy surface.
In addition to the stuff that makes the SCG Boot go fast, it also features a 30-gallon gas tank, a front winch, roof rack, light bar, onboard fired suppression system, and an onboard compressor.
