Daniel Craig’s wife Rachel Weisz has blasted the idea of the next James Bond being female. Daniel, 55, bade farewell to playing the spy with 2021's 'No Time To Die', and there have been a string of male actors tipped to step into his shoes including Tom Hardy and Idris Elba, while several have suggested Bond could be a woman – but Rachel has insisted she is against the idea of a female 007. She was quoted by the Daily Star newspaper saying about the concept of changing Bond's gender: “Definitely not. That is a male character. That is written by a man for a man. No.” The ‘About a Boy’ actress, ...

Charlie Higson has claimed that James Bond is being turned into a dull family man. The 63-year-old comedian – who wrote the bestselling Young Bond book series – is unhappy with the way the legendary spy's womanising and ruthless side has disappeared in recent 007 movies. Charlie told the Chalke Valley History Festival: "Bond is a fantasy, he's got no wife, no kids, you rarely see him at home, he lives in hotels, eats in restaurants, sleeps with as many women as he wants and gets to kill people. "It's the best job in the world. You never see him mowing his lawn, washing his car or asking his ba...

James Bond author Anthony Horowitz says 007 should never have been killed in Daniel Craig's final film 'No Time To Die'. The 67-year-old author - who has been licensed to write new stories about Ian Fleming's fictional spy by the late writer's estate - has weighed in on the decision for Craig's version of the character to die, and admitted he almost considered it for new book 'With A Mind To Kill'. He told The Times newspaper: “I didn’t do it because, first of all, I think it would be impertinent of me to kill a character that I hadn’t created, and secondly Bond shouldn’t die, Bond is for ever...

Mark Gatiss wants to reinvent the James Bond franchise. The 55-year-old actor and writer has previously enjoyed success by reviving 'Sherlock' and 'Dracula' for television series and admits that he would love to turn his hands to 007, with more emphasis on the original novels by the spy's creator Ian Fleming. Asked which iconic character he wants to work on next, Mark told the Distraction Pieces Podcast: "It's obviously James Bond. "It may look like it but I'm not set on remaking everything from my childhood, it's just the way it's fallen. The truth is it's very hard to get things commissioned...

Dominic Cooper doubts that he will get to play James Bond. The 43-year-old actor portrayed 007 creator Ian Fleming in the 2014 TV series 'Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond' but thinks he is unlikely to play the legendary spy as he predicts that Bond bosses will take a "very different" approach to replacing Daniel Craig. Dominic told the Metro newspaper: "It's a redundant question, isn't it? It's every boy's childhood dream but they've been so extraordinarily clever and forward-thinking with the franchise that I think the next Bond will be very different from what we have seen. "Being totally ...

Henry Golding doesn't think diversity should be a factor in casting for the next James Bond. The 'Snake Eyes' actor has been tipped as a possible replacement for Daniel Craig as 007 after his decision to bow out following 'No Time To Die' but he doesn't think ethnicity should influence the choice of bosses as Bond simply represents "a man of substance". Henry told RadioTimes.com: "It shouldn't be a factor at all. I think Bond represents something that we've all sort of grown up with and that's a man of substance, a man who has stoic properties and is a protector, has a sensitive side." The 34-...

James Bond is getting its first female author. Kim Sherwood is to pen a trilogy of "contemporary thriller" books, which will be set in the world of 007 and has hailed it a dream come true to have been given the brief by Ian Fleming Publications, almost 70 years after the first story of the suave spy, 'Casino Royale', was published in 1953. The first installment in the saga - which is expected in September 2022 - will be set at time when Bond is “missing, presumed captured or even killed,” prompting a new swathe of agents, with one being a plant. Kim - a 2018 finalist of the The Sunday Times Yo...

Adele wants Idris Elba to play the next James Bond. The 33-year-old Grammy-winner has revealed she actually would like to see 'Loki' actor Jonathan Major replace Daniel Craig as 007, but because he's American, her second choice is the 'Luther' star, who has previously been tipped to take on the iconic role as the fictional suave spy in the blockbuster franchise. Speaking to Vogue for their '73 Questions' series, the 'Easy On Me' hitmaker said: “I mean it’s a tough one there have been lots of different choices and stuff. But I would like Jonathan Major to be the next Bond. But I don’t know if t...
