Nebraska will be without linebacker Nick Henrich against Iowa, Husker head coach Matt Rhule said Wednesday. Henrich re-tore his ACL during overtime Saturday night against Wisconsin, and Rhule said he expects the fifth-year junior to take part in the Senior Day walk Friday. Henrich missed the last seven games of 2022 after injuring the knee against Purdue. Chubba Purdy will start again Friday at quarterback, Rhule said. Heinrich Haarberg is still slowed by the ankle injury he suffered two weeks ago against Maryland and is an "emergency guy" at QB. At running back, Anthony Grant is battling a lo...

There were injury updates, news of a suspension and more as preseason camp kicked of Monday morning for coach Matt Rhule's first Nebraska football squad. Rhule said after practice that safety Myles Farmer was suspended before camp and is not the 120-man camp roster. The suspension was "just for simple things, nothing major," Rhule said. "Just some of our standards." Asked when Farmer might return to the team, Rhule said "we'll see." "It's just kind of day-by-day," Rhule said. "I love Myles. He's a competitive kid. It's so hard when you have a new coach and they have different standards than yo...

Mickey Joseph: ‘We embrace playing in a hostile environment’ Mickey Joseph says Nebraska will need solid play in all three phases Saturday night at Purdue, where he expects a more hostile environment than what the Huskers faced last week at Rutgers. "I think the boys did a great job at Rutgers with the so-called sellout crowd," the Huskers' interim head football coach said Tuesday. "...We hope Purdue has a sellout because at the end of the day we embrace playing in a hostile environment. You know, chaos, we embrace that. Controlled chaos, we embrace that in the kids. That really gets their foc...

Luke Reimer and Nick Henrich drop in, along with Gerrod Lambrecht Athletes' name, image and likeness rights have changed college athletics drastically. However, one of the most significant changes we like is the accessibility to student-athletes and their ability to come on podcasts like ours. We did NOT pay Luke Reimer and Nick Henrich to be on this episode, for the record. However, they are in the studio with Gerrod Lambrecht from ABM, a branding and marketing firm representing Nebraska student-athletes. In this edition of the Doc Talk Podcast Presented by Betfred Sports, Dr. Rob Zatechka an...

Frost and players expect tough fight from Bulls For the second time in three weeks, Nebraska is facing a team with a new coaching staff. But unlike the situation with the opener against Illinois, the Husker football staff has actual game film to help in preparations. Buffalo "looked like world-beaters in Game 1," Husker coach Scoff Frost said of Buffalo's 69-7 win Thursday over Wagner. "They got ahead in that game fast and did some things late in the game that they didn't do in the first 20 snaps," he said, "so it's going to be a bit of a guessing game." The Bulls' players "know how to win," a...
