Since Ford released the F-150 Raptor R, we’ve been dying to see it compete against the Ram TRX as, well, if anything is bound to beat it, it’ll be the ultimate F-150. Thankfully our friends at TFL put together a super truck drag race, pitting the F-150 Raptor, Raptor R, Ram TRX, and GMC Hummer EV against one another. The races were split into a tier system, where the F-150 Raptor and Raptor R first go head to head against one another; that winner will then go against the Ram TRX, and whoever wins in that second drag race will go head to head with the Hummer EV, which may weigh the most, but never underestimate the torque from an electric motor.

But which truck will win the first race, even with the standard Raptor having a weight advantage of 100 pounds? We also get a little break from racing to hear the trucks rev their engines, which is a superb addition to any video and doesn’t disappoint.
Onto the main event, the Ford F-150 Raptor R versus the Ram TRX, while the TRX has slightly more horsepower than the Raptor R, the TRX is 500 pounds heavier. Of course, other factors are also at play, such as how much the tires weigh and transmission, all pointed out before the race. The winner? Despite not having launch control, the Ford F-150 Raptor R pulls off the line quickly and pulls ahead of the Ram TRX, though not by a significant margin.
That means the Ford F-150 Raptor R will be racing against the GMC Hummer EV, which weighs significantly more, has more power and torque, and has a trick up its sleeve that could make this drag race quite unfair: WTF Mode (Watts To Freedom). Though there was a slow start from the Hummer EV due to a tire spin, that didn’t set it back as it pulled away from the Raptor R as if the truck wasn’t even accelerating. There is a caveat, however, as the Hummer EV is limited to just 106 MPH, due to its tire rating. The Raptor R has the same kind of limitation, as well. In other words, these two super trucks would need a bit of tinkering and a set of faster tires to really show off their quarter mile potential.
