Jaidon Anthony blown away by Leeds United star on Friday, posts five-word message on Instagram

Ethan Ampadu was awarded with the man of the match award on Friday night as he sparkled during Leeds United’s 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough – and Jaidon Anthony reacted.

Ampadu, 23, continued in the middle of the Leeds defence alongside Joe Rodon as the Whites looked to make it 11 league wins in 12. They did just that, thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford and Willy Gnonto.

Ampadu has been moved into central defence during that run, alongside Wales teammate Joe Rodon. It has worked to perfection, conceding just three goals and keeping nine clean sheets in those 12 games.

The Wales man was superb, often breaking the lines and joining the midfield to contribute further up the pitch but also making some excellent interventions in defence. His long-range passing, on full show.

Ampadu took to Instagram after the match to underline his delight at another win in the race to finish in the top two. Leeds have piled the pressure back on Ipswich with the win, who take on Cardiff tomorrow.

Leeds, for now, sit in second place in the Championship table. A draw for Ipswich will not be enough tomorrow to reclaim second, given their inferior goal difference to us – with 14 goals separating both.

If Leeds are to eclipse both Ipswich and Southampton and finish in the top two come the end of the season, then Ampadu is going to play a massive part. He already has done, playing 42 times for Leeds.

Anthony, who was missing from the squad that beat Sheffield Wednesday, responded to Ampadu’s post on Insta with a five-word verdict. Tottenham’s Brennan Johnson asked if he wanted to play Call Of Duty.
