Rick Hilton, known as Paris Hilton’s father and owner of Hilton and Hyland, has decades-long drama with Mauricio Umansky, after Kyle Richards’ estranged husband was denied to be a firm partner.
Drama is seriously coming to the forefront after Mauricio Umansky spoke out against the Hilton family on his upcoming season of Buying Beverly Hills. Rick Hilton and his daughter, Paris Hilton, aren’t happy at all.
Mauricio Umansky calls out Rick Hilton
Mauricio Umansky has fired back at Rick Hilton, his old boss, after a decades-long rift. During a promo clip for a new Netflix season of Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio got “f***ed by Hilton & Hyland”.
“When I say f***ed, you know, like, today I’m happy, but there was a hundred agents at Hilton & Hyland. They did a billion dollars for the first time a year. I was 19.6 percent of their production,” he recalled.
Kyle Richards‘ now-ex had gone to Rick and asked to be made a partner of the firm but was denied. “I am Rick’s brother-in-law but unfortunately, it got sour because it really affected the family,” Umansky said.
Kyle’s ex leaves Hilton and Hyland
Mauricio had asked Rick for equity, but when that was denied, Kyle’s hubby made a bold career move. He then went home to speak to Kyle, warning her the decision would “really cause a lot of stress”.
He admits he had forewarned a rift between Kyle, her sister Kathy Hilton, and the entire Hilton family, but said he “didn’t want to do this move of leaving and starting a company if it makes her uncomfortable”.
After Mauricio left Hilton and Hyland with Kyle’s support – which he calls an “amazing company he’d never speak poorly of” – he decided to launch his successful real estate firm, The Agency.
Hilton family stopped speaking to her
Kyle was affected by the Hilton vs Mauricio rift “more than anybody,” he claimed. After the release of the new clip, Paris spoke out against Mauricio, accusing him of using their name to promote his show.
“My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family-especially in the press,” she wrote in a comment shared on Instagram.
“Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already,” Paris added. Years ago, Kyle and Kathy got back in contact and remain close.
