'Liverpool have a gem on their hands': Country's media amazed by 20-year-old youngster, he's already a 'hero'

Liverpool have been told that they have a gem on their hands following one player’s international display this week.

Of course, the excitement is building for the final part of the Premier League season. And Liverpool will be hoping to quickly regain top spot in the table.

What is remarkable about the Reds’ title push is how important a number of the younger players have been to Jurgen Klopp’s side. Obviously, many of those starlets played their part in Liverpool winning the Carabao Cup final earlier this season.

Perhaps the most impressive of all of the younger players has been Conor Bradley.

Bradley has been exceptional for the Reds, particularly since Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up an injury earlier in the year. Alexander-Arnold has been remarkably good this season. And yet, the 20-year-old stepped up into the role brilliantly.

It seems that he has taken his impressive form onto the international stage. It was Bradley who scored the winner as Northern Ireland beat Scotland on Tuesday night.

But it was his overall performance at Hampden Park really caught the eye, with a number of media outlets lauding the full-back’s display.

“Northern Ireland, and Liverpool, have a gem on their hands in this young man – endless energy, versatile and superb quality on the ball,” wrote BBC Sport.

“Hero of Hampden. One careless pass early on was quickly forgotten as he found the net with a slightly deflected finish. Great perseverance and execution from the Liverpool man. A lethal finisher disguised as a full-back. 9,” was the Belfast Telegraph‘s verdict

“Continued his meteoric rise with first NI goal capping another great performance,” wrote Belfast Live, as they gave the starlet 8/10.

A meteoric rise

Bradley went into this season still awaiting his Premier League debut. That almost seems as surprising as anything else, because he looks so comfortable at that level.

Certainly, he looks to have an amazing career ahead of him. And that bodes well for both club and country.

Obviously, getting into the Liverpool team is not going to be easy unless Alexander-Arnold’s role is changed. But it says everything about how good he has been that there seems to be a desire to get them both into the side somehow.
