Three spicy new drinks with chili powder are coming to Starbucks

Starbucks is bringing a hot twist to its drink lineup this spring with three brand new Spicy Lemonade Refreshers.

The drinks have been leaked by Starbucks baristas and are rumored to launch later this month – and it’s not an April Fools’ joke.

Starbucks’ Spicy Lemonade Refreshers

The new beverages haven’t been announced by Starbucks yet, but Instagram foodie Markie Devo has shared the news after receiving information from an employee.

Three spicy refreshers are on their way: Spicy Mango Dragonfruit, Spicy Strawberry Açaí and Spicy Pineapple Passionfruit.

The cold drinks feature the sweet flavors of Starbucks Refreshers shaken with ice, real fruit inclusions, lemonade and a new Spicy Chili Powder Blend.

So, they’re essentially the coffee chain’s normal fruity iced beverages with the addition of real chili powder and other spices.

They are set to “unleash spicy goodness and awaken the senses,” providing a “tropical escape with plenty of heat,” a leaked description from Starbucks says.

Baristas confirm drinks are real

People were convinced the post was an April Fools’ joke, but Starbucks employees are confirming the drinks are real.

On Reddit, two baristas said that their stores received the new chili powder blend this week, so the drinks really are coming.

“As someone who works at Starbucks, this isn’t fake, we got our chili powder in already,” another said on Instagram.

TikTok user Megh, who shares all the latest Starbucks releases, showed a picture of the silver packet too, which says: “Spicy chili powder blend.”

Back in March, a Starbucks employee also posted a picture of the cash register which shows the three beverages.

The refreshers are rumored to be arriving at participating Starbucks locations nationwide starting April 16.

Two new bakery items, an Orange Sorbet Cake Pop and Pineapple Cake Pastry, are also rumored to be coming soon.
