Report: Club could be forced to sell 'sensational' £45m Spurs target after announcing £90m in losses

The Championship often serves up a sprinkling of top-class stars that end up in the Premier League the next season – whether that is through promotion, or by earning a big transfer in the summer.

Leeds United and Ipswich Town currently occupy the top two spots with six Championship matches left to play, while Leicester have a game in hand – a point behind second-placed Leeds. All three boast talents.

The likes of Leif Davis, Omari Hutchinson, Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and over at Leicester – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is on fire. The 25-year-old is dragging Leicester towards an instant promotion.

This season, the attacking midfielder – once branded “sensational” by Brendan Rodgers – has had a hand in 25 goals. Scoring 11, 14 assists. Tottenham are being touted with a move for the Leicester playmaker.

Tottenham could find success in move for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

One that could end up following in James Maddison‘s footsteps, swapping Leicester for Tottenham. A report from TalkSPORT today claims that Tottenham remain keen despite his huge £45m asking price.

The report claims Tottenham have a good relationship with The Foxes due to the deal done for Maddison. That could help strike a move. But there is another reason why Spurs could find success in a potential bid.

Indeed, TalkSPORT say that Leicester announcing losses of £90m may force Enzo Maresca’s men to cash in one or two crucial players like Dewsbury-Hall. Certainly, he is the Leicester player with the biggest value.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall would be a superb signing for Tottenham

Not just because he can play slightly deeper than the no.10 role he has been playing in at Leicester, but because of his relationship with James Maddison. Spurs will need central midfielders in the summer.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has said he is not happy and is being linked with an exit. Yves Bissouma is no stranger to injury. Oliver Skipp does not look as though he is particularly fancied by Ange Postecoglou.

So, Postecoglou will want a new central midfielder and Dewsbury-Hall could fit the bill. While he might be better in Maddison’s position, he would be superb signing for Spurs if willing to play behind Maddison.
