Tottenham Hotspur have now been linked with a player who Dejan Kulusevski once suggested has everything, ahead of the summer transfer window.
Spurs have enjoyed an incredibly promising first season under Ange Postecoglou. Tottenham led the way in the Premier League in the opening weeks of the campaign. And they have played some of the best football on show.
With that, there will be a lot of excitement for what Tottenham may be able to do in the summer.
Certainly, it appears that Spurs have some very ambitious targets on their radar.
It was reported this week that Tottenham are one of the teams interested in signing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
Isak has had an outstanding season with the Magpies, scoring 15 goals in 22 Premier League games. He has now scored 29 goals in 59 games in all competitions for Eddie Howe’s side.
In truth, it is hard to see there being any chance of a deal. The report noted that Isak is valued at around £100 million. Ally McCoist was one of those who suggested that Tottenham appear to have no hope of landing Isak.
Dejan Kulusevski says Alexander Isak has everything
But Tottenham fans would be over the moon if they could sign the 24-year-old. The move would also present Isak with the chance to play alongside international teammate Dejan Kulusevski.
Back in 2021, Kulusevski suggested that Isak ticks every box.
“He’s good at everything. Good at combining, he is fast. He is good at winning nick duels as we saw today. He is very easy to play with,” he said.
Tottenham move looks unlikely
The chance to play alongside Kulusevski is unlikely to really boost Tottenham’s hopes of signing Isak. However, it cannot do Spurs any harm.
And the links with Isak should perhaps give Tottenham fans some hope. While he may be out of their reach, the reports give a hint that Spurs are getting ready to push the boat out.
And hopefully for Tottenham, that leads to a very exciting summer, whether they get Isak or not.
