Dele Alli issues heartwarming message to former Tottenham teammate Heung-min Son

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Dele Alli has sent a message to Heung-min Son following the game against West Ham.

It was a quiet evening for the South Korean at the London Stadium as Tottenham were forced to settle for a point against the Hammers.

Brennan Johnson was the man to get his name on the scoresheet for the Lilywhites, but Ange Postecoglou‘s side may feel two points were dropped.

The Welshman has really found his feet at Tottenham over recent months having made that move from Nottingham Forest in the summer.

Postecoglou has been full of praise for the 22-year-old recently having been impressed with the way he’s handled the pressure that comes with a big-money move.

Spurs will have the opportunity to put things right tomorrow when they face Nuno Espirito Santo’s Forest.

However, they will be doing so already knowing what Aston Villa have done when they play on Saturday against Brentford.

A win for Unai Emery’s side would take them five points ahead of Spurs having played two more games, equally a result for Brentford could give Spurs a boost going into Sunday’s game.

Dele says Heung-min Son’s like a brother in touching message

It really was one of Son’s quieter games when he captained the Lilywhites at the London Stadium.

After Johnson opened the scoring, Spurs never really looked like much of a threat in front of Lukasz Fabianski’s goal.

Here is a brief summary of Son’s display in east London.

  • 90 minutes played
  • 1 shot on target
  • 1 shot off target
  • 0.09 xG
  • 44 touches
  • 3 key passes
  • 9X lost possession

Regardless of the result, messages have flown in for Heung-min Son after the 31-year-old marked his 400th appearance in a Spurs shirt.

Son joined the north London side all the way back in 2015 and has seen a lot of change over those years.

He has also had the pleasure of playing alongside some seriously talented players and some of Tottenham’s greatest.

One of those players was Dele who was one of the most exciting players to wear the lilywihte shirt over the last decade.

The 27-year-old sent a message to the club for their video looking back on Son’s time at Spurs where he offered his congratulations.

“Sonny, my brother. Big congratulations on the 400 appearances! It’s an amazing achievement. We had some amazing moments on and off the pitch.

“You are someone that I hold very close to my heart – you’re like a brother to me. I’m so proud of everything you’ve done and achieved at the club. Keep going, keep smiling and keep being that great human you are. I’m proud of you!”

Son will always be there for Dele

Dele’s struggles both on and off the pitch have been well documented over recent years.

He is currently with Everton, but remains on the sidelines as he battles with a long-term injury issue.

Spurs look unlikely to receive any transfer fee for Dele given he has not featured for Sean Dyche this season, but Son has already said he will always be there for the 27-year-old.

“Dele was always close, as a friend with me,” the Spurs captain told the media last year.

“It was a really tough moment for him and obviously I’m always there to support him because he’s one of my closest friends.
