‘Unbelievable’… Heung-min Son says player Tottenham have now sold was incredible in training

Heung-min Son has admitted it was a real privilege to play alongside a player who Tottenham Hotspur have now sold.

Tottenham go into the weekend sitting two points adrift of Aston Villa in the Premier League table.

But Unai Emery’s men will play before Ange Postecoglou‘s men which will provide Spurs with two games in hand ahead of Sunday’s game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was not the result which Tottenham will have hoped for on Tuesday against West Ham, but it did mark a special occasion for Heung-min Son.

The South Korean captain marked his 400th appearance for the north London club and has seen a number of former players share their congratulations.

Dele Alli was just one of a host of players like Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and even Kevin Wimmer to share a video message for the 31-year-old.

Son has been in sensational form this season after being handed the captain’s armband by Postecoglou over the summer.

Despite seeing a lot of change both on and off the pitch over the last 12 months, Son has returned a stunning 15 goals and eight assists in the league.

But it seems he thinks playing alongside one former Tottenham player may have helped his development over the years.

Heung-min Son says it was a pleasure to playing alongside 30-year-old

Son has already expressed his delight with playing alongside the likes of Brennan Johnson this season.

The Welshman has been in fine form of late and Son has revealed he is trying to help the 22-year-old’s development in north London.

Over the years Son has been able to play alongside some truly special Tottenham players who will go down as club legends.

Perhaps the most important of those players being Harry Kane who became the club’s record goalscorer last season.

Daniel Levy sanctioned his sale to Bayern Munich in the summer with Spurs receiving a whopping £100m for their club legend.

Prior to his sale, Kane and Son were able to combine to become the Premier League’s greatest ever duo.

Before Kane finally moved on from Spurs, the pair were able to produce a combined 47 goals in the English top flight over their years playing together.

Speaking in a video released by the club on Saturday morning, Son shared just how much of a privilege it was to play alongside the striker.

“Playing with Harry was unbelievable. We’d been training together [for] so long. As soon as he got the ball, he knew where I was and I knew where he was going to pass the ball.

“Yeah it was a privilege sharing the changing room, on the pitch and make this record [with him].”

Son wants Tottenham to add 28-year-old to their squad in the summer

One player who has been playing alongside the South Korean of late is the January loan signing, Timo Werner.

The German has arrived until the end of the season on a short-term deal, but Tottenham do hold the option to make his stay permanent for £15m before 14 June.

And it something which Son has admitted he would like to see Spurs do over the coming months.

“As a player, I want to help him so he has a better option than right now. That’s a team-mate’s job. We’ll see what’s going to happen at the end of the season. I can say I want him to stay.”
