Class footage of Sheffield Wednesday fans emerges after 'huge' 2-0 win against QPR

Sheffield Wednesday claimed a massive three points in the Championship on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday couldn’t have asked for a more perfect result against QPR.

The Owls won 2-0 at Loftus Road and deserved the points, scoring twice in the second half through Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba.

QPR never really troubled the Owls in what was a quiet afternoon for goalkeeper James Beadle.

The win ends a run of four games without one for Danny Rohl and his side, who needed a big reaction from that 2-0 defeat vs Middlesbrough on Easter Monday.

There was controversy ahead of the Championship clash vs QPR.

Sheffield Wednesday were only allocated the upper tier at Loftus Road, though other teams have received both the upper and lower tiers for trips to West London this season.

Only 1,800 tickets were given to Sheffield Wednesday fans for QPR, but they packed out the away end and were in full voice throughout.

After what was described as a ‘huge win’ by BBC pundit Rob Staton, Sheffield Wednesday fans stayed behind to celebrate with the players.

And journalist Joe Crann shared this footage after full-time.

Championship run-in after Owls beat QPR

There’s now five games of the season left.

Before QPR, there was a huge feeling of deject among fans, though that win has once again changed the outlook for the season finale.

The Owls remain in 23rd place of the table but are now just a point behind Huddersfield Town in 21st, level on points with Birmingham City who’ve dropped into 22nd after defeat vs Leicester City.

Sheffield Wednesday are now just two points behind Plymouth Argyle all the way up in 19th and five points behind Swansea City in 15th.

Once again, Wednesday are looking up the Championship table.

This win will surely put some wind back in their sails ahead of what is a fairly kind run-in for the Owls, who go up against Norwich City at Hillsborough on Tuesday night.

The Canaries will be dreading a game against a rampant Sheffield Wednesday under the lights on Tuesday, though Wednesday must remain very vigilant against a strong Norwich outfit who sit in 6th after a big 1-0 win over Ipswich Town Saturday lunchtime.

But Rohl will no doubt have the backing of Sheffield Wednesday fans against Norwich, and once again, the vocal fans could help inspire their team to what would be a monumental win in the Championship.
