Everton Fan Advisory board have just issued statement after Premier League deduct more points

Everton need all the support they can get in their defence against the tyrannical Premier League.

For many supporters, this constant tearing down of the Toffees is humorous, as they sit unaffected elsewhere in the table.

However, for clubs outside the traditional ‘top six’, many do not realise how grave a concern PSR poses for their long-term ambitions.

No club wants to constantly stay stuck in mid-table or battling the drop, but the ability to spend freely is strictly prohibited. Leicester City won the Premier League and the FA Cup not that long ago, before offloading countless assets for astronomical fees.

Now, they are set to be punished before even returning to the top flight.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are another two, set to be forced into sales despite their overperformance.

It is ludicrous, and someone needs to stand up for the rest of the Premier League to avoid the monopoly growing even further.

Everton Fan Advisory Board send message to Premier League

Given how vocal they have been throughout this season, regularly coming to the defence of a club that has likely had its hands tied due to the various legal ramifications of voicing their regular displeasure, the Fan Advisory Board has come to good use.

After all, it has effectively said what many were already thinking, broadcasting it to a new level and actually lobbying for responses from the perpetrators of various crimes.

Whether it be abysmal refereeing decisions, a takeover that shows no signs of a conclusion or yet another points deduction, they have been on hand to provide a scathing verdict.

And this latest one, published on X, is perhaps the most important of all, as they once again have been called into action to defend the club’s position on PSR.

One paragraph reads: ‘Combined with their apparent inaction regarding the Owners’ and Directors’ Test (OADT), the PL has brought a palpable level of sporting interference to Everton’s doorstep. The PL Independent Commission’s decision to refuse to consider the views and impact on supporters could not be further from the Premier League’s rhetoric about the importance and value of fan input. It raises real concern that the PL continues to erode the trust and good faith of football’s biggest asset – supporters.’

However, perhaps the most damning criticism of the Premier League came in just one line: ‘The only consistency throughout has been the inconsistency.’

Could Everton receive another points deduction?

Whilst this might seem like the end at last for Everton’s PSR troubles, this season has likely just been the start.

Especially given one report has now suggested that they could even start next season on minus points, should certain charges regarding the Bramley-Moore Dock be brought to reckoning.

It really feels like there is no end in sight for this misery, with Sean Dyche the unfortunate figurehead forced to somehow try and motivate a side that continues to see their hard work expunged.

But, with just seven games left to play, they will know what needs to be done to ensure these deductions are rendered pointless by the end of the season.
