Alasdair Gold admits he had to laugh after what he saw Tanguy Ndombele do for Galatasaray on Sunday

Journalist Alasdair Gold has admitted what Tottenham Hotspur loanee Tanguy Ndombele done for Galatasaray on Sunday was hilarious.

Tottenham will be making decisions on a number of their squad players’ futures ahead of the upcoming summer window.

Ange Postecoglou‘s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has seen the Lilywhites show a big improvements on last season’s displays.

And that is likely going to force a number of players out of the club over the coming months.

Daniel Levy has provided the Australian with the tools to build this Spurs squad into his own over the last two transfer windows.

Arrivals of players like James Maddison and Brennan Johnson are just some of the examples of Tottenham’s positive work in the recent markets.

However, there are still a handful of players who look like they do not hold a future in N17 under the 58-year-old.

Tanguy Ndombele is certainly one of those having spent the season out on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Galatasaray cup final saw bizarre Tanguy Ndombele moment

On the weekend, Galatasaray were involved in a cup final like no other where they faced Fenerbahce’s U19 side.

The Turkish side had asked for the cup final against Ndombele’s side to be postponed ahead of their Europa League quarter final last night.

However, this request was not granted, so Fenerbahce withdrew their players after a matter of minutes and provided Galatasaray with a default win.

Ndombele did not start the game for Galatasaray but the Turkish giants felt obliged to give their fans something to watch so they played a game between their own players.

The Frenchman’s future at Spurs looks bleak with the expectation for him to be sold this summer after another failed loan spell.

And it was in the training game amongst their own players which left Gold amused with what Ndombele did.

Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, the Spurs reporter claimed the 27-year-old was playing a game in the Turkish heat whilst wearing a beanie hat.

“So Galatasaray ended up playing a game between first team players – or some first team players – and reserve team players, of which I’ve no idea what the score was. But certainly some photos we’ve seen, Tanguy appears to have been involved.

“He wasn’t in the starting lineup for the cup final he was on the bench, but he seems to have been involved. And what did make me chuckle because it’s classic Tanguy. He was playing in his beanie hat that he wears all the time.

“And I have seen that man train in that beanie hat in the most ridiculous temperatures on pre-season tours so he can he can absolutely do it. I just found it hilarious.”

Pep Guardiola once hailed Tanguy Ndombele before Spurs signed him

The 27-year-old is arguably going to go down as the club’s worst-ever signing after arriving in 2019 for £63m.

It would be very easy to say that Spurs should never have signed him, however, at the time, he was receiving big praise from some of the biggest names in the game.

Manchester City played Ndombele’s Lyon the season before he signed for Spurs and the Spaniard had some big words to say about him and his midfield partner.

“We talk a lot about Ndombele, but Aouar is also excellent,” Guardiola said during a press conference back in 2018.

“Lyon really has a very good team. There are young people full of quality and I think the team is in place tactically, I think we can congratulate them, we have had absences tonight, but we have to congratulate them!”
