Simon Jordan shares real reason he thinks Daniel Levy is trying to bring investment into Tottenham

Simon Jordan now thinks there is a real reason why Daniel Levy is trying to bring new investment into Tottenham Hotspur.

Under Ange Postecoglou, the Lilywhites are surpassing the expectations of many after a summer filled with uncertainty.

Tottenham saw a lot of change unfold over the summer with Harry Kane‘s departure perhaps the biggest of the lot.

Losing the club’s greatest ever goalscorer was always going to see question marks over what would be next for Spurs.

But the club are now impressing under their Australian manager as they look to secure themselves a spot in the top four.

Over the last week, Daniel Levy has revealed the club’s latest financial report which came with some interesting updates.

The Spurs chairman revealed the club are looking to bring in outside investment with talks ongoing with prospective parties.

Jordan thinks there’s a reason outside of football why Levy wants investment

When the financial report landed last Wednesday, the Spurs chairman was also keen to point out Spurs had made £500m+ in revenue for the first time ever.

Although there was plenty of good to come out of the latest financial report there were also some things that fans may not have liked to see.

It has also been revealed Levy had increased his salary by £300k and had awarded himself with a £3m bonus.

This comes at a time when Spurs fans have been left furious because their season tickets for next season have been raised by the club to cover costs.

And now TalkSPORT‘s Simon Jordan thinks Levy is wanting more investment into the club as he looks to grow Tottenham Hotspur away from the pitch.

“It tells me he wants to build other things. He’s seen a revenue model and he wants to build hotels and it tells me he wants to build other things. He wants to gentrify Tottenham beyond all recognition.”

“This Tottenham side now, you look at that Tottenham side, look at the players they’ve got, you look at their bench. They’re a twist of the wheel away from being a really, really significant side.”

Levy has now had plans approved for construction outside of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

According to The Athletic, days prior the financial reports being released, Tottenham received planning approval for a 30-storey hotel which will be built outside of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The construction is expected to be fully complete for when the Spurs stadium hosts European Championship games after being named the only London club ground to host games.

Spurs had originally submitted plans for a 22-storey building, but those plans have since been upgraded.

A lot of money has gone in to the club’s infrastructure to boost their revenue and it seems Levy is keen to continue development off the pitch.
