‘Unbelievable’ Tottenham player now 95% likely to leave with Ange Postecoglou not liking what he’s seen

Tottenham Hotspur are now looking extremely likely to move on a player this summer which Ange Postecoglou does not fancy.

A number of potential exits are being lined up at Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window.

After two windows at the club, Ange Postecoglou has now been able to make good headway in moulding this squad into his own.

With Daniel Levy having sanctioned a number of new signings since the Australian’s appointment, this summer may just be a case of fine tuning the squad.

Over recent years, Spurs have made some pretty poor signings with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso not living up to expectations.

However, there is another player who is struggling to make a name for himself at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And it now looks like Postecoglou has seen enough to greenlight his exit from the club over the coming months.

Ange Postecoglou now wants rid of player who he has not even played

When Postecoglou arrived in the summer, he had inherited a side which had just finished eighth in what was a dismal campaign under Antonio Conte.

And to make matters even more difficult, the 58-year-old was then dealt the blow of losing the club’s record goalscorer in Harry Kane.

However, he was handed some encouraging additions with the likes of Micky van de Ven and Brennan Johnson coming into the club.

But there are some players which just have not made the cut for the Spurs manager and Djed Spence is certainly one of them.

The right-back was sent out on loan by Postecoglou when he arrived and spent the first half of the term with Leeds United.

Daniel Farke’s side terminated his loan early and he has since been sent out on loan to Genoa following the deal to bring Radu Dragusin to the club.

Speaking on the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, Alasdair Gold has admitted he can’t see a way back for Spence at Hotspur Way.

“I would pretty much say I’d go as far as a 95% chance of that [Spence playing for Spurs again] not happening. Ange just did not fancy him.

“Last summer didn’t really like the look of him from what he saw. That was why he didn’t really play and he was heading off and even when he came back from the Leeds loan, he was sent to train with the U21s.”

What Ian Wright once said about Djed Spence makes these stats hard to believe

After playing against Arsenal for Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup back in 2021, Ian Wright waxed lyrical about Spence.

Since his time at Forest, it has not worked out for Spence as he has since really struggled to find any regular game time at any of the four clubs he’s played for.

“But let me say, that was one of the best right back performances I have seen for a very long time. A very long time,” he said on Wrighty’s House podcast.

“If we are talking about right-backs performing at an unbelievable level, we’re talking Reece James and Trent (Alexander-Arnold),” Wright added.

“But I have not seen a combative, technical, swashbuckling performance like that for a very long time.
