Thirteen-year-old Harry Frost, better known as DJ Hypester, invited back to play Chris Evan’s CarFest in 2024 after surprise performance last year

A 13-YEAR-OLD DJ who wowed the crowd at Chris Evan’s CarFest last year with a surprise performance has been invited back to play the music festival this summer.

Woolton Hill resident Harry Frost, known as DJ Hypester, stood in the festival crowd and boldly held a sign pleading to the event organisers to ‘Let me DJ’ last August.

When spotted by the team, he was brought on-stage, and with just a USB stick on hand, Harry was able to play to the crowd for an impressive 30 minutes and had guests rushing to the dance floor.

Harry’s set even impressed UK drum and bass legends Chase and Status, who stated that DJ Hypester was a “legend in the making”.

Harry told the BBC last year: “I was pretty nervous, but I was saying to myself ‘nerves are good’, because that’s what gives me the adrenaline rush, and I like the adrenaline on stage.”

His mother Barbra said: “This really helps him with DJing as well.

“He can break down songs really well, he can hear the pitch and work out how to put two tracks together.”

Harry, who has attended the festival since he was two years old, also met CarFest founder, prominent radio disk jockey Chris Evans, in 2023.

Now, one year later, Harry is to take the festival again by storm and will be performing for longer at CarFest 2024, with a new, dynamic music set.

CarFest returns this August Bank Holiday weekend (August 23 to 25) at Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, for its 13th year.
