‘Should be going after him’: Pundit says Man Utd should do all they can to sign £60m Newcastle player

Newcastle United are making a late push for a place in the top six.

The Magpies have been brilliant over the past few weeks, and despite all of the injuries, everything seems to be clicking again for Eddie Howe’s side.

However, this summer may prove to be difficult for the Tyneside club.

Indeed, there’s been plenty of chat about Newcastle having to sell a star player in order to comply with FFP restrictions, and one player who has been touted as a potentially sellable asset is Alexander Isak.

The Swedish striker has been red hot this season, and speaking on The Game Football Podcast, Tony Cascarino has stated that he thinks Manchester United should go after the £60m Newcastle star.

Manchester United should go after Alexander Isak

Cascarino shared his verdict on the striker.

“Isak is the big one. As we’ve said Newcastle have to keep him. I think there will be a lot of vultures hanging around him,” Cascarino said.

“Arsenal? Is he good enough?” The host asked.

“Wherever, I think Man United should be going after him, I think he’s that type of player, he reminds me of that type of player when he finishes he’s very Henry-like,” Cascarino said.

Alexander Isak would improve any team

It’s not just Manchester United who should be after Isak.

Indeed, the Newcastle striker would improve pretty much any team in the Premier League at this point.

He’s a unicorn of a player, he combines the strength and speed of a player like Darwin Nunez with the touch and poise of a player like Gabriel Jesus with the finishing ability of someone like Erling Haaland.

Isak may not be the leading goalscorer in the Premier League, but there’s a strong case to make that he’s the most well-rounded centre-forward in England right now.
