Bright blue Refresher with bubble tea twist is coming to Starbucks really soon

A bright blue Refresher drink is coming to Starbucks this summer that draws inspiration from Taiwan, with boba pearls.

It hasn’t been announced by the coffee chain yet, but baristas have leaked the fruity beverage online early – and it looks delicious.

Starbucks’ Summer-Berry Refreshers

A staff poster shows two variations of the blue Refresher, the Summer-Berry Refresher and Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher. Both of them are sky-blue icy drinks with red tapioca pearls at the bottom, making them a bit like bubble tea.

There is also a third drink called Summer Skies, which is a white, milky Refresher that’s mixed with coconutmilk.

“A sweet blend of raspberry, blueberry and blackberry flavors mixed with water, lemonade or coconutmilk and shaken with ice,” the description says. “These beverages are poured over Raspberry Flavored Pearls that deliver a delicate and deliciously sweet burst of summer fun.”

It adds that Starbucks is excited to add a “delicious, unique twist” to the Refresher lineup for a limited time. The new drinks are speculated to be part of the summer menu and launching on May 7.

Baristas try boba drinks early

Starbucks baristas have been sharing videos of the new drinks on TikTok, three weeks before the anticipated release.

“Ya’ll Starbucks got a new Summer Berry Refresher. It’s supposed to come with little purple boba balls in it. They didn’t get those in yet,” one woman said while holding up the drink.

She added that the “fire” beverage is going to be her go-to drink this summer and tastes exactly like blue raspberry Kool-aid.

“When you get your hands on Starbucks Summer Berry Boba drink but they don’t have boba yet,” another barista added.

“Yes [it’s real], it drops on 5/7 they shipped us the berry base, the special boba straws and the new lids,” she said in the comments.

The TikTok user added that the raspberry pearls will be the popping kind, not chewy, and said the drink is “so good” even without the boba.

The Focus has reached out to Starbucks for comment.

In the meantime, you can try the coffee chain’s brand new Spicy Lemonade Refreshers, which have real chili powder in and launched on April 16.

They come in three tropical flavors, Spicy Dragonfruit, Spicy Pineapple and Spicy Strawberry, and combine the zest of lemonade with a Spicy Chili Powder Blend.
