Report: Tottenham have already received bid for their £22m player, he wants to go

Tottenham have already received a bid for one player ahead of the summer transfer window, and he wants to go.

A number of fringe players look set to leave Spurs this summer.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is one who seems certain to depart, having endured a tough campaign under Ange Postecoglou which has seen the Dane make just six Premier League starts.

Giovani Lo Celso is another who could leave – the Argentine is also struggling for game time this season – although there is one fringe player at Tottenham who has now been the subject of a transfer bid…

Tottenham receive bid for Bryan Gil

Well, Tottenham have now received a bid from Feyenoord for Bryan Gil – according to 1908 in the Netherlands.

The Spain international has played just 189 minutes of Premier League football under Postecoglou this season across ten appearances, and seems surplus to requirements.

A story from Give Me Sport states that Gil would like to be sold this summer to find regular first-team football elsewhere, and the Spaniard now has an offer on the table from Feyenoord.

1908 explain that Feyenoord wanted to sign the Tottenham No.11 in January, and are now plotting another swoop after failing in the winter.

The Dutch news outlet do not share the exact details of Feyenoord’s bid, claiming that it could be anything from an outright permanent offer, or an initial loan deal with a purchase clause.

Whatever the bid, Tottenham are highly unlikely to receive anything close to the £21.6m spent to sign Gil from Sevilla back in July 2021.

Spurs have replacement in mind

Tottenham have failed to get anything out of Gil under the likes of Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Postecoglou now, so it’s probably time for Spurs to cut their losses – especially as he wants to leave.

The north Londoners must try to get as much money as possible for the 23-year-old, who could well be replaced by Pedro Neto.

A story from the Evening Standard states that the Wolves No.7 is a primary target for Postecoglou this summer, after the Portugal international tore Spurs apart in N17 earlier this season.

Neto – like Gil – is a player who usually lines up on the right, where he cuts inside on his stronger left foot, so from a stylistic point of view, he would be a smart replacement for the Spanish winger.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as a sale looks likely to happen.
