Report: Sergio Ramos now making key transfer decision, after links to Inter Miami

Sergio Ramos is reportedly set to make a key transfer decision after rumors that Inter Miami are interested in signing the Sevilla defender.

The 38-year-old center-back’s contract with the Spanish giants is set to end at the end of this season, with Inter Miami one of the many clubs reportedly interested in signing Ramos in the summer transfer window.

With the defender’s agent heading to the United States over Easter to talk to MLS clubs, there’s a growing chance that Inter Miami could be the team that end up signing Ramos, who will reunite with former PSG teammate Lionel Messi.

Ramos now personally looking at options after Inter Miami links

According to Estadio Deportivo, Ramos has now taken the matter of finding a new team into his own hands, with Sevilla likely to release the defender at the end of this season after a turbulent year between the center-back and the club.

Whilst there is a chance that Ramos could extend his contract with Sevilla, the prospect of leaving Europe is seemingly on the defender’s mind, with America a clear destination for the former Real Madrid superstar.

Indeed, Inter Miami could be the most logical destination given the connection with Messi and how Florida is now emerging as the go-to state for Spanish-speaking soccer players since last year’s moves.

And following this latest update, Ramos to Inter Miami could be a move that is currently in the making, with the defender at the ideal stage of his career to make the move to MLS and America.

Inter Miami should look to pull of transfer if roster rules allow it

With Inter Miami’s recent moves potentially leading to wholesale roster and spending changes in MLS, the Herons should be looking to sign another top name in the summer if the finances are there.

And Ramos could be the ideal signing for Tata Martino’s side, with a defender clearly needed as Inter Miami remain one of the leakiest sides in MLS even with all their new additions.

If there is room to pull off a deal, there’s no reason why Inter Miami shouldn’t move for Ramos, who he himself could be sold on a move given where he is in his career and the huge perks of living in Florida.
