Noni Madueke shares Instagram post with Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino after penalty spat vs Everton

Despite Chelsea beating Everton 6-0 on Monday, there easily could have been a bit of tension at Cobham this week.

The night obviously went well overall, but there was one moment that left Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino very unhappy.

Four nil up, the Blues were awarded a penalty, which Noni Madueke, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer ended up fighting over.

Palmer, who has been the club’s penalty taker this season, eventually took to the spot before dispatching past Jordan Pickford.

After the game, Pochettino sent a warning to Madueke and Jackson, telling them they will be out of the team if they ever pull a stunt like that again.

Noni Madueke’s Instagram post shows mood at Chelsea

Madueke does not seem to be too annoyed with his manager, though, following the firm message he has sent.

Yesterday, the winger took to Instagram to share a post.

The post featured one picture of Madueke smiling and sharing a conversation with Pochettino.

The 22-year-old will be hoping to put the penalty chaos against Everton behind him and start in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final tie versus Manchester City on Saturday.

Now could actually be a good time to take on Pep Guardiola’s side after they were forced to play 120 minutes in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Real Madrid last night, which they went on to lose on penalties.

Should Noni Madueke start against Manchester City on Saturday?

While Pochettino was clearly not happy with Madueke’s antics on Monday, the England U21 international has probably been one of Chelsea’s best players of late.

He scored in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United before the Everton game and won a penalty in the 4-3 victory over Manchester United.

The same cannot be said about Mykhailo Mudryk, one of the Blues’ most expensive ever signings, and Raheem Sterling. Therefore, Madueke probably should be getting the nod this weekend.
