‘When you watch their games’: Thomas Tuchel shares what he really likes about Arsenal as a team

Arsenal were defeated by Bayern Munich over two legs in the Champions League, but there were a lot of positives to take away from the tie.

Indeed, after losing 10-2 on aggregate to the same opposition a few years ago, a 3-2 defeat showed the amount of progress Arsenal have made under Mikel Arteta in recent years.

Thomas Tuchel may have been the victorious manager on the day, but after the game he spared some praise for his opponents, claiming that he really does like Arsenal as a team, claiming that he enjoys how fluid they are whenever he watches their games.

Thomas Tuchel praises Arsenal

Tuchel spoke about the north London club.

“They’re one of the very best. They have so many points in the last two and a half years in the Premier League. Now they have a difficult spell in the last three matches, but when you watch their games, they’re so fluid, you learn when you watch them, you get joy when you watch them, it’s the full package,” Tuchel said.

Arsenal are one of the best teams around

Arsenal may not win the Champions League this season, but they have now re-established themselves as one of the best teams in Europe.

The Gunners have been eliminated at the same stage as Manchester City, and there’s no shame in that, and the reality is that with a bit more luck in the draw or with a couple of refereeing decisions, Arsenal would be semi-finalists.

For the first time in a long time, Arsenal didn’t disgrace themselves in the Champions League, and make no mistake about it, they’ll be back next season and gunning to win it all.
