Daka dropped, 27-year-old starts: Predicted Leicester City XI vs West Bromwich Albion - opinion

Leicester City resume Championship action this weekend as they play host to fifth-placed West Bromwich Albion.

Following back-to-back defeats to Millwall and Plymouth Argyle, Enzo Maresca‘s side are in desperate need of a win, particularly after Southampton picked up a convincing three points against Preston North End on Tuesday.

Fortunately for The Foxes, Leeds United and Ipswich Town are both going through a tricky patch themselves.

So, as it stands, Leicester reside just a point adrift of the summit with a game in hand, meaning three wins from their remaining four will be enough to seal automatic promotion.

Ahead of Saturday’s King Power Stadium clash, Leicester City News has predicted the starting line-up, including all the latest injury news.

Kasey McAteer is now back from a hamstring injury and could be involved in the matchday squad this weekend.

Harry Souttar is the only injury concern, having picked up a knock on international duty with Australia during the March break.

Aside from that, Maresca has a fully fit squad to choose from.

As usual, Mads Hermansen will assume his position in between the sticks, though, there could be a couple of changes in front of him.

Hamza Choudhury may come in at right-back to help defend against West Brom’s Mikey Johnston, a jet-heeled winger who has been tearing it up since arriving in January.

Conor Coady is a player Foxes fans have been screaming for in recent weeks, as his experience and know-how could be hugely beneficial in the run-in.

So he and Jannik Vestergaard partner at the back, just as they did against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win.

At left-back, Callum Doyle starts having impressed since returning to the line-up with his phenomenal passing range.

With Choudhury dropping into the back four, Ricardo Pereira steps into midfield alongside Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Wilfred Ndidi just misses out as he continues to get up to speed since returning from injury, though, he can play a useful role off the bench.

Out on the flanks are the ever-presents Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu, who are almost undroppable, really, as City aren’t blessed with depth in that area.

Up top is the big change, many have been calling for Patson Daka to drop out and we’ve gone for Kelechi Iheanacho to take his place.

The 27-year-old has hardly had a look in of late and hasn’t started a league game since the start of December, so he’ll be hungry to impress if given the opportunity from the first whistle.

Leicester City (4-3-3): Hermansen; Choudhury, Coady, Vestergaard, Doyle; Pereira, Winks, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Iheanacho, Mavididi.
