"Fantastic": Jean-Philippe Mateta sends Palace fans a message, Chris Richards leads responses

Jean-Philippe Mateta enjoyed yet another groundbreaking night for Crystal Palace as he bagged himself another two goals.

Arguably the biggest benefactor from Oliver Glasner arrival at Selhurst Park has been the big No. 14.

For Crystal Palace, the future is looking brighter than it ever has done in recent memory as the Austrian boss has his team on fire.

Another huge win on Wednesday sees the Eagles now mathematically safe from relegation, and it now looks possible that Palace could even challenge Brighton in the midtable scrap.

While this means little given the season is almost over, it’s a massive sign that going forward, this won’t be the same Palace, with next season looking very exciting.

But after the game, Jean-Philippe Mateta took to Instagram with a message to fans and his teammates.

After yet another excellent outing for the Frenchman, he now has 14 goals this season, with eight coming in the last nine games.

As he continues to fly high, Mateta has sent a message via his Instagram.

He wrote the caption: “Another win, my team”, followed by a heart-eye emoji. He added a “+3” and a flexing emoji.

This message is encouraging and shows just how the squad morale has improved. Mateta has gone from a near-January exit to now calling Palace his team.

The brace on Wednesday also sees him become the first Palace player in the Premier League era to score in five consecutive home games.

Underneath his post, Mateta’s teammates have responded to him.

How Mateta’s teammates have responded to his two-goal performance

It’s always great to see the squad hyping each other up after a win, and this was no different with several teammates responding to Mateta’s post.

Chris Richards wrote: “FANTASTIC”, which is clearly a nod to Mateta’s now iconic videos post-game where he screams at the camera, ‘fantastic’.

Currently sidelined but still in awe of Mateta, Matheus Franca also sent a response: “The best”, he wrote, followed by a star eyes emoji.

Nathaniel Clyne replied similarly to Richards: “Fantaaastic!!”, followed by two flame emojis.

Naouirou Ahamada wrote: “Boss”, while David Ozoh replied too: “Wow”.
