Crystal Palace U21 star leaves "last dance" message in response to Roshaun Mathurin post

After Wednesday’s International Premier League Cup triumph over Jong PSV, one player has suggested his time at Crystal Palace is over.

Wednesday night saw the U21 Eagles side crowned champions of the International Premier League against second-division Dutch side PSV.

A 1-0 win at Selhurst Park was enough to see Crystal Palace lift the trophy as Oliver Glasner and some senior players watched on in support.

In a repeat of the final from last year, Palace learned their lesson to beat PSV this time thanks to a goal from Franco Umeh who is deserving of a chance to step into the senior team.

Celebrations were wild for Palace, but after the game on Instagram, one player suggested this might’ve been his last game.

Danny Imray hints he’s leaving Crystal Palace

After the game, Roshaun Mathurin posted on Instagram as many of the players did, but his responses were particularly interesting.

Mathurin wrote: “An amazing way to cap off a brilliant first year for this amazing club @cpfc. So proud of the boys. Just the beginning.”

To this, Danny Imray was in the comments suggesting his time at Palace could be over as he wrote: “Last dance together”.

To which Mathurin wrote back: “It’s been a journey brother”.

This seems to suggest the 20-year-old full-back is departing despite extending his contract last season, although it’s unknown if it is set to expire this year.

Most likely though, this means he’ll be on loan next season which he should be considering he’s done everything he can at a U21 level now.

One player who definitely isn’t done at the club is Mathurin who’s had a top-class season.

Roshaun Mathurin has a future at Crystal Palace

Signed for free from Spurs last summer, Mathurin has had a very impressive debut campaign at Copers Cope.

He’s scored 11 goals and made 14 assists in U21 action and will undoubtedly be on the preseason tour this summer looking to blow Glasner away.

Michael Olise is likely to miss preseason whether he stays or not through his potential Olympics participation, and so there is a chance for someone to breakthrough on the right side.

Mathurin probably faces direct competition from Umeh to get a senior debut with both impressing this season in youth football, now we just have to seeif they’re utilised this summer, if at all.
