Report claims West Ham now want to sell player who only signed for us in 2023

So, West Ham United are apparently trying to sell one player this summer, after a very short period at the London Stadium.

We’ve already told you here on Hammers News how incoming West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui sat down with Tim Steidten yesterday to discuss his transfer plans this summer.

The Spaniard has a lot of work to do, if he is to eclipse the brilliant achievements of his predecessor David Moyes.

Nobody will ever forget how Moyes helped us end our 43-year wait for a major trophy.

The Scot worked wonders for the Hammers in all fairness to him, but it became clear to see in the end that he had taken us as far as he possibly could.

Now the onus is on Lopetegui to take us to a whole new level entirely. That will be easier said than done of course, considering the unbalanced and ageing squad that Moyes has left behind.

There are definitely some players who shouldn’t be anywhere near the West Ham first-team squad, and getting one of them in particular off the wage-bill should be a priority for the new Hammers chief…

West Ham make big decision to sell attacker

There will clearly be a big shake up at the London Stadium when the summer transfer window opens.

Lopetegui will not have lavish funds at his disposal, so he’ll have to supplement his summer war-chest by selling a few players.

And one player in particular appears to be up for the chop…

The Evening Standard claim that Danny Ings could well be sent packing this summer, if a decent offer comes in for him.

The 31-year-old has proven to be a terrible signing for the Hammers, but he’s still under contract with us until the summer of 2025.

Four goals and two assists in 52 games for West Ham (Transfermarkt) tells us all we need to know about how much Danny Ings has struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium.

The former Aston Villa man recently admitted that he has found it tough going at West Ham, and his time at the club could well be coming to an end now.
