Johan Lange set Tottenham transfer mission which has been approved by Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur technical director Johan Lange has been working on one specific signing since he arrived at the club.

The last 12 months has seen a lot of change brought to Tottenham with Daniel Levy overseeing a complete overhaul in north London.

The sale of Harry Kane was one of the biggest decisions made by the Spurs chairman over his tenure at the club.

But that was not the only big decision made as Levy decided on Ange Postecoglou to become the new manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This summer could still prove a busy one for the Lilywhites in the transfer window with Postecoglou promising change at Hotspur Way.

And it seems plans have been worked on for months behind the scenes for one specific transfer with Postecoglou’s demands in mind.

Johan Lange has been working on Ange Postecoglou transfer plan

With the summer transfer window just a matter of weeks away from opening, Postecoglou has remained fairly open on what he expects from Levy.

The Australian has already spoken about his desire to bring in another centre-back having signed Micky Van de Ven and Radu Dragusin already this season.

During the trip to Australia, Postecoglou also told the media that he is hoping to see his attacking line bolstered this summer.

And that is something which Lange has been working on since he landed the role at Spurs as he’s been tasked with finding their potential Kane successor.

According to Football.London, Lange and Rob Mackenzie have been looking for a striker who would fit Postecoglou’s style.

Over the months, a number of high-scoring strikers from across Europe have been watched with their numbers crunched in Tottenham’s data-led recruitment system.

The report claims the transfer plan that has been presented to Postecoglou at Hotspur Way has hit the spot with the 58-year-old manager.

Tottenham have multiple strikers on their summer radar

A report from earlier this month suggested there were six strikers who Spurs were going into summer with on their radar.

And there is a wide range of players listed from current Premier League strikers to some of Europe’s most in-demand.

  • Santiago Gimenez
  • Ivan Toney
  • Dominic Solanke
  • Serhou Guirassy
  • Lois Openda
  • Viktor Gyokeres

The future of Richarlison could prove vital in where Spurs go next in their search for a striker this summer.

Interest from Saudi Arabia is expected to return for the Brazilian, but it is believed he is keen to remain in north London.

But with Europa League and Richarlison’s injury struggles to consider, Spurs fans will be hoping to see another striker brought in regardless of where the Brazilian ends up come September.
