"Very aggressive" player is now waiting for Crystal Palace to announce him after passing medical - Journalist

Crystal Palace are set for a summer full of incomings and outgoings and signing number one is now awaiting his announcement.

Oliver Glasner looks set to get his wish, as one talented player seems on the verge of joining Crystal Palace this summer.

The Eagles have had links to countless targets over the past few months but finally, one looks set to be finalised soon after he completed his medical.

As usual, Dougie Freedman often does, it’s a player with a high ceiling in the hopes Selhurst Park can work its magic and turn a prospect into a superstar, following in the footsteps of Marc Guehi and Michael Olise.

But now it’s been reported that he’s just waiting for his move to be announced by the club. Here’s what we know.

Chadi Riad is awaiting the announcement of his move to Selhurst Park

After it was known that Chadi Riad was due to have a medical this week, as Real Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini confirmed, excitement has been building over the move and now it seems to be imminent.

According to a report by Diario Sevilla journalist Pedro J. Gonzalez, Riad’s agents have been in London since last Tuesday to close the transfer to Palace for their client.

The Moroccan reportedly passed his medical on Wednesday and is now waiting in London for the announcement of his arrival to make everything official.

This seemingly confirms that Riad will join Palace this summer and it’s merely a matter of time until it all becomes official.

Chadi Riad can be an incredible coup for Crystal Palace

Signed as what we assume will be a left-sided centre-back, Riad will slot right in alongside Joachim Andersen and Chris Richards, with Guehi likely to be leaving.

Riad at just 20, has been lauded as being “very aggressive” by Xavi in the past, and this is a trait which will bode well for him in the Premier League going forward.

If he can combine this aggression with his technical quality and natural defensive qualities which he clearly has, he’ll be a wonderful pick-up for Palace.

Hopefully, we get to see him holding up the red and blue shirt before the weekend and eyes can turn to a potential second signing.
